NC how to change owner name?
My name is misspelled on my "About Your NOOKcolor" under Owner. My name is correctly spelled on my bn.com account. I cannot get through to the 800 number to ask. I have erased and deregistered my NC twice, but my name is still wrong. Does anyone know how to change it?

Go to B&N's website, sign in, and double-check your account preferences for your name under Personal Information. I had my nickname used on my account a while ago, and when I connected to my account with my NC, it picked the nickname up. (The website also displayed the nickname at top, "Welcome Steve", when I signed in.
I didn't remember setting my name on the NC, but sure enough, it displayed my nickname in the Owner window. On the B&N site, under My Account>account settings>Change your name, email, or password, I found my nickname listed, and changed it to my full name. Then I logged out of the website, cleared the cache, and when I logged back in, I saw my new first name listing on the website, "Welcome Steven Lyle." I'm guessing the next time I connect to B&N with the NC, it will display the new name... but I have to wait until I get home, or come across wireless access, to log in and see. |

Thank you for the response! I did that; everything is correct at bn.com
Originally it was not, but then I fixed it. My NC did not update. I deregistered it two times, and it still has the previous misspelling. I am dumbfounded. |

My guess is that it is caching the name, since you're registering with the same account. Try creating a new temporary account and registering that, then your real one again. If that doesn't work a factory reset should.

Yes, the same happened to me... I still have the nickname on mine. Sorry, I thought that would nail it. Fortunately for me, I can just leave it as-is... it's not worth my resetting accounts and doing resets, etc.

How to a unregister the original account? Will I have to Erase & Deregister Device? I'd prefer to not erase everything again if possible.

This is really weird... I ended up getting a new Nook Color and linking it to the same account as my old Nook Color, and my name is still misspelled.
I don't understand how this is possible. I might just make a new bn.com account altogether. |
