				Help, Please

I downloaded a multi chaptered fanfiction from Granger Enchanted, with the option of saving the whole story in one file in HTML. (I wanted to do this because you get the ability to skip from chapter to chapter.) I had no trouble with adding a cover, or converting. But when I put it on my Kindle instead of Quote marks, I have this strange little box with a question mark in it. Also when I open the file on my computer, there's simply no quote marks, no little boxes, just nothing. I tried several from Granger Enchanted and all but one did this. Is there something I need to do, or am I out of luck? Thanks to anyone who can help. |

If you view the html after you add it to calibre does it have quotes? If not then step 2 will solve your problem. Set the encoding in the file type plugin. If the html after added to calibre does have quotes then you step 1 is for you. Last edited by DoctorOhh; 04-28-2011 at 08:26 AM. |

Actually, I was being blind, I had to delete the fic completely then try the new encoding, and it worked perfectly. Thank you very much. |
