My stylus broke...
and i am not suprised. The only things i did not like about my 350 were the plastic trim and the fragile stylus and of course the stylus broke while i was taking it out.
I rarely used it so i was very surprised when the top just fell off, i wish they offered a sturdier replacement, now i have to track down where to get a new one.

Let us know if you find a good source for replacement styluses. I'm paranoid about breaking mine but so far so good.

Sony really should sell a three pack of them.

If you have a Sony Style store nearby, they might let you take one from a demo model.

I called Cust Service ... they said 10 days approx.. haven't seen the replacement arrive yet... I asked for more than one but they said they won't send more because they do sell them individually..but I haven't seen it for sale yet.. the funny thing is the pen is still in there.. but I have to shake the device to get it out! lol Because the top plastic portion broke off... ugh

Were you quoted a price? After chasing up local Customer Service, I got quoted $190 including shipping, which must surely be a mistake. Another person in Australia was quoted $40 including shipping, which is a much more believable figure, but still in no way a price I'm willing to pay. I'm using a Nintendo DS stylus, which works fine with the touchscreen, but I wish it could fit in the slot.

I wish somebody had the idea of producing cheap plastic replacements and selling them on eBay...

Does the 650 use the same stylus as the 350? So far, I've only seen reports of 350 styluses breaking.

If the crappy (because that's pretty much what they are) styli break when people try to perform such outrageous maneuvers as take it out to use it (oh! don't do that!), then Sony should be happy to send a replacement out for free.

Design-wise, the stylus is the weak link in the whole Reader form factor.

I wouldn't have thought that someone could build an entire internet business around replacement styluses (stylii?), but sure enough there's

I haven't even received the 350 I ordered yet, but I've already got this site bookmarked for the future. The pen/stylus combos and the stylus-on-a-lanyard items look interesting. Nothing specific for Sony Readers, though.
