Date column is gone
I used the Date column a lot as it showed the date I added ebooks to Calibre. Fastest way for me to see which books I've recently added. Now it's gone! I went into preferences, add own Columns, and see that the column for Date is there and it's checked. Nevertheless, the Date column no longer displays in my Calibre browser. I tried restoring defaults, but that didn't help either. Date simply does not display any longer. I tried adding the modified date field, but don't even know what it represents. Doesn't help anyway. I tried adding a new epub to calibre and no date shows up in that column. I just downloaded and updated to version 0.7.57 -- still no Date column. I can't find a way to contact the developer to even inquire. Any thoughts on this? Has the Date column disappeared for other Mac users? So frustrating.

Right-click on column header, scroll down to show column then pick the date column from the list.

Um, that didn't work" exactly" as described -- BUT it did lead me to what solved the problem. "-)) When I scrolled down to show column, the only column listed was Ratings. Ooooo-kay. What the heck, I decided to try the Restore the default layout from this context menu even tho restoring defaults via Preferences had not done the trick.
Summa ma gun! Got the date field back. I'm happy! Thanks much, nynaevelan. Very good to know about this right-click menu. With that lil' tool in hand, I clicked away to hide the default columns I don't care to see, and then dragged the others into preferred order. Tres kool. |
