Hello from the Shenandoah Valley!

I've been lurking for a little while and decided I needed to jump in and post so "Hey There"!

I actually started reading eBooks back in 2003 on an HP iPaq H2200 and have continued right on up to my present "toolkit" consisting of an iPod Touch (using Stanza), an Acer Netbook (Using Calibre), and a recent gift from a friend, a Barnes & Noble Nook.

At this point I've amassed a library of 3,215 ebooks (organized via Calibre on my main computer) consisting of a lot of technical articles and reference materials, full length novels (both purchased and from places like Gutenberg) and a LOT of short stories from innumerable sources. I've read somewhere in the area of 70% of those books as I am a complete reading addict.

The majority of my reading is split between Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Technical (pleasure and work) though I make frequent forays into historical and biography as well as the occasional dipping of the toe into poetry.

My wife credits the advent of the eBook and portable readers with saving our marriage because at one point she told me if I built another bookshelf in the house that she was going to disown me

Hi zespectre and welcome to MobileRead. Like you, I started reading on an iPaq then moved up to an eInk device (Sony 505) and really like it.
