Hi LINSEY and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a Sony 505 for over three years now and really like it. And it is very readable in direct sunlight as are most eBook readers.
I suggest you peruse our Which One Should I Buy section for some really good advice on more current readers |

Hello and welcome, Linsey. I don't have an e-reader either and I'm just as confused. Hope you figure out what's best for you. In the meantime, enjoy the forum.

Hi Linsey and welcome! The best e-reader is the one that meets YOUR needs and wants the best. Take a look at the matrix first to see what's available.
Then sit down and write out a list of what features are important to you for what you want an e-reader for. Everybody's list is a little different - you may or may not want 3G or wifi, and you might decide certain other features are do or die. You may also want to take a look at Calibre before you make your decision. There's a whole section here on Mobile Read devoted to Calibre, and playing around with the software (it's free) can give you some ideas what you might want to use an e-reader for. (I know it helped me make my decision.) |

I would strongly suggest several things:
Learn where your capslock key is. Most people do not like being shouted at. Read the forum titles, one of which is called "Which one should I buy?" Go there. And take it easy on the question marks. One will do nicely. |

Any e-ink reader should fulfill your desire to read outside. Plus they are easier on your eyes. Stay way from lcd devices. Spend some time on this forum and you will get some good advice
And ditto on the caps lock key. We aren't hard of hearing. ![]() |
