One line per 'page' on some converted books

I've converted a number (large number) of books on Calibre to mobi format.

On opening some on my Kindle I've found that they are only displaying one line, sometimes one word & sometimes slightly more on a 'page'.
As I've converted so many I just put it down to the 'price you pay ...' but the last time I decided to check. It was converted from an original pdf file but when I opened it up on Calibre (it opened in Kindle for PC) it was formatted correctly.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong (I've absolutely no doubt it's something I've stuffed up)

What's the source file format? Calibre looks for clues to new chapters and creates a new page there, it will probably be something you have under structure detection/detect chapters.

Yet it reads OK on my PC (on Kindle for PC). It's only on my Kindle that it reads like this.

However I will go through the Preferences again to see if there's anything I missed!
