How & When You Read Your Books?

We read when we are in a mood to do so. We read what our mood tell us to read.

I read- when travelling (not driving), before sleep, on holidays and every other possible opportunity.

I love a cozy, quiet corner and a supply of good tea/coffee every hour.

I dont mind a reading chair, sofa or a bed; but nothing like a recliner.

Oh! as I type was it a tremor in Cairo?? I felt for sure. Let me check news. Its the geological one not the political one.

Anyways, whats work best for you?

What I want:

A nice comfy chair (to curl up), recliner or window seat.

A warm cup of tea with milk and sugar.

A quiet, cool or rainy afternoon.

In reality:

I read whenever or wherever I can. These days, its during a lull when I volunteer, long car rides (with hubby driving of course) or at night after our kids have gone to bed (and neither of us want to watch TV).

On the back of a charging rino, in the company of an irate Hippo, sitting on the head of an angry pelican, in the home of a furious ground hog. Who says I have no sense of humor.

So, indeed it was a quake with epicentre at Crete. Such situations are least appealing to my reading habits.

I read whenever I have time and wherever I happen to be. This morning I was eating tacos, Mixteca style, at an outdoor market and was reading my Kindle while I ate. That's how it works.

My main reading times: in bed before going to sleep (I have been doing this since I learned how to read some 35 years ago), and sitting on the floor outside my daughter's bedroom, waiting for HER to go to sleep. I slip in a few pages here and there otherwise. I find a reader is better than a book for those "stolen pages" throughout the day.

Generally, weekdays I read in the evening, in the hour or two (or three) before sleep, and usually propped up in bed with a pussy cat or two close by (or more likely using me as a mattress).

On the weekends, I might catch an hour on a Le Corbussier recliner, perhaps a cup of coffee close by, and more often than not, a big orange tabby stretched out on my legs.

My preference is either sitting on my couch at home or at a coffee shop while enjoying a latte. I also do a lot of reading at the table while eating, either at home or out at a restaurant.

I usually read while propped up in bed, for an hour or so before going to sleep at night. When the weather's nice, I enjoy sitting outdoors in the shade where I can hear the birds chirping.

In my sunroom with the windows open, with a nice tall glass of iced tea.

I frequently read something even when I am not in the mood (or I'm never NOT in the mood to read, hard to know...)

Also, my mood frequently lets me down and provides no real guidance concerning reading material and I just grab some crap off the shelf and start reading it.

I read every chance I get, eating breakfast, coffee break, when I am waiting or travelling. But my favourite place to read is on my bed (I consider my bedroom my sanctuary). My second favourite is on my nice comfy sofa with a blanket and a cup of tea/coffee and my doggy curled up next to me and silence.
As to what I read -- it runs the gamut. And the choice usually reflects my mood, so I usually read more than one book simultaneously.
