Combining epubs?

Is there a simple way to combine several epubs (short stories) into one epub? I don't especially care about adding a table of contents--I just want to be able to get all the stories into one file.

My bright idea was to zip all the stories into a single file and then convert the zip file with Calibre, but that didn't work--the resulting epub only gave me the first story. Any suggestions?

There may be something simpler and quicker, but this works:
Let's say you have 5 stories as epubs.
Using copies, change the file extensions of stories 2-5 to 'zip'.
Unpack each one.
Load story 1 into Sigil.
Right click a folder in the left hand side panel and choose Add existing items...
Navigate to the unpacked other stories and select all the Text items within the Text folder.
Repeat for each story. (You may need to modify filenames to differentiate between stories.)
If there are images and/or different stylesheets repeat for those.
In Sigil do any rearranging necessary then save.

Thanks. I was hoping I could avoid unpacking each story (there are about 50-60 of them).

I haven't used Sigil yet--I'll have to take a look at it.
