An e-reader for my Russian-speaking aunt in US.
I am looking to buy an e-reader as a present for my aunt. Both my aunt and I live in the United States, but my guess is that most of her reading will be modern Russian-language fiction. I've looked at the big 3 American reader platforms (Amazon, B&N, and Sony), and it looks like their Russian support is poor at best without custom firmware and their selection of Russian-language books is not much better, though I could have easily missed something.
Does anyone have recommendations? My aunt does have Internet access and a laptop, so a cellular connection is not required, but a store with a good Russian selection and facilities that simplify purchasing and downloading would be great (as opposed to having to hunt for less-than-licensed instances). Thank you all in advance. Last edited by Pahan; 12-16-2011 at 10:35 PM. Reason: Typos fixed. |

I'd suggest a Pocketbook device. Pocketbook are based in Ukraine, and have excellent Russian-language support.
