I doubt copyright is going to be around in 2030. If Amazon is still relevant in the future as an ebook distributor they will have combined their cloud storage with marketing and a payment system to distribute monies to the most popular books.

I could definitely see a few of those possibilities/ideas coming true. Especially the space ship one.

Going by how he runs Amazon, Bezos probably has Blue Origin working on a skyhook.

Great link. And I hope Prime members will get a discount on travel via Jeff Bezos' spaceship.

The article may as well have been posted on April 1. A lot of "we don't see why"s and "there's no reason"s, with no actual suggestions as to how Amazon will do any of those things.
I could as easily postulate that Amazon will, by 2030, own the Moon; that Bezos will be the undisputed ruler of Earth; and that Amazon will have perfected time travel, transmutation and matter teleportation. Oh, and they will have been the first to contact aliens. Similar things have been said about companies like Microsoft, IBM, AT&T, and probably Edison Electric. But times change, competitors alter priorities and influences, the public gets fickle, and accidents happen. Despite Bezos' best intentions, anything could happen to Amazon in the next 20 years, and we could be saying similar things about a company called Nile or ShatStorm or Escobeanie Barnes. Bottom line: Put these predictions into the proper category--sci-fi--and leave 'em there. |
