Smile Just got it and I'm very happy

The last ebook reader I had was a bookeen cybook, unfortunately on a trip back on a plane with a very full hand luggage the screen was broken which was upsetting at first but now I have a 350 it's completely forgotten.

The 350 is so much more advanced than my booken reader. I got to know the reader very quickly, like many of the features such as being able to find phrases or words, don't think my bookeen did that and as soon as I learn't you could draw or doodle with it I discovered the stylus which I hadn't noticed yet.

I got it from waterstones for £111 and also got the cover with the light which cost a lot for a cover (£44.99 if you must know). However thats only £5.99 more than I paid for my bookeen all included.

The only thing I don't like is that I wish there were less stupid sizes such as the XL that I can't see anyone using and a few more sizes between large and medium. I've also had a few problems with the current PDF I'm reading just on certain pages it won't view at the normal size.

Anyway I do love it.

Congratulations! I have a pink 350 with matching lighted cover, and it's just perfect for carrying around in my handbag. Just a friendly caution to be careful with the stylus. Some people have posted that they are not very durable and easy to snap without much force.

We, who all love our Sonys, too, are the first to agree with that criticism about the size.

What do you mean about your PDF issue? I don't understand exactly.

I've never been able to read a PDF on any of my readers. First device I'm happy with PDFs on is my Xoom.

I can read PDF books well enough - I prefer medium print, which throws off the reflow a bit, but the books are perfectly readable.

PDF

On the book I'm reading sometimes on some pages the page looks very small then there are options to zoom in but then you have to use directional keys to scroll round the page.

This is perfectly normal (if seriously unwanted) behaviour for pdfs on any ereader... it all depends on how it was created and the actual contents of an individual page... that's why you can zoom in and out and the ability to scroll around the page. The only pdfs, that don't require any changes, are ones that have been created to fit the ereader screen with the font size that the user wants...

If you buy a book that is formatted with very tiny print, you will appreciate the XL size. (Yes, this has happened to me. Only one book of 250 I have bought.)

Congratulations! I hope that you enjoy your new reader as much as I enjoy mine. I really enjoy my lighted cover as well, and I was surprised as how much I use it.
