Question Will a Kobo only let you read a library book once?

I updated yesterday to firmware version 1.8.3, and while I had my Kobo plugged in, I removed an expired library book and replaced it with the new version that I'd checked out again. It works just fine in ADE, but my Kobo will not let me open the book. The other library book that I put on there opened just fine... but it was only the first time I've had it out.

Will a Kobo device only let you read a library book once? Does the book leave some sort of digital residue in the database to prevent piracy?

You may need to reauthorize your reader with ADE.

just plug your kobo in and start Adobe Digital Editions and it will authorize your device

That's what I thought. I did that after updating, but that's when the problem started.

I just tried again, with a newly checked-out copy... and this time it worked.

Thanks!
