Bulk convertion - wrong source used
I am having trouble getting Caliber to bulk convert some manga (originals in cbz format).
I have already converted them for my Nook classic (epub) but when I now bulk convert them to my Kindle DX I have some problems. There is no option in the bulk convert to select what source to use. Instead of my original cbz's, it is using my converted epub's. Which is bad since the epubs are resized for the nook, all the pages are now blurry on my DX as it is upsizing a small epub sized page to a kindle dx instead of downsizing a cbz sized page. Is there a way of telling Caliber which format to use in bulk convert. Or even better idea, a 'Original' flag on the original format for the ebook. So Caliber knows which format of each ebook to use in bulk converts (and also could be used when you want to delete all the converted ebooks and just keep for original, which is getting harder for me to keep track manually as I am getting more original's in epub/mobi/cbz etc..) I could convert them one at a time (where I can select the source) but try doing that to 500+ mangas |

After some playing around I found out you can set the preferred input format order under Preferences->Behavior. So moving CBZ to the top Caliber picks CBZ in Bulk.
So it pays to looks a little harder before posting hehehe. Still like to be able to tell what format the ebook was originally in though (So I don't delete the wrong one etc hehehehee). |

If a book has been converted before then Calibre should have stored those settings and re-used them. You can revert to using the settings from Preferences by clearing the check-box at the top left of the Bulk Conversion dialog.
In terms of what format will be ued to convert, then Calibre uses the one that is highest in the preferred input format priority list set under Preferences->Interface->Behavior |

![]() I made a single, preset value Text column: Mstrfmt (to keep it narrow) that I populate with the original format type. Since a RAR or Zip (besides the std HTML/JPG) can also contain ANY of the other types, I indicate which: Zip(DOC), RAR(Lit) ... |
