Howdy,
I am new here. I found this site trying to find ways to strip DRM from epub files I get from the library. I am not at all interested in piracy but would like to be able to read documents on any device I choose. I am trying to decide what kind of device to use as a dedicated reader. I am drawn to the Kindle as I have plenty of other gadgets that are more multi purpose.

I have been using Ubuntu for 6+ years ever since the true pirates at MicroSoft asked for a $95 upgrade fee for a broken Outlook 1 year after I paid $250 for MS Office Professional. I tried several flavors of linux and ended up with Ubuntu. I have not looked back since. I have the same sentiments for Apple. I am very much a proponent of open source systems.

Sorry (already) for posting problems/issues in an intro forum but thought it would be beneficial to state how I got here.

Welcome to Mobileread ….

Do pop into the Kindle Forum for all the tips and tricks. Interesting you mentioned epub, which the kindle doesn't handle ....

Or alternatively you may need to browse >>> ereader-matrix ... Which Reader Forum?
