is there a good ereader for about 250 and under that can read magazines well?

You're going to want something like an iPad or an Android tablet for that. The "Zinio" app on the iPad gives you access to a huge range of magazines and works very well indeed.

I agree.

iPad is very slick but a little expensive.

The Nook Color has good support from B&N and is slightly less expensive.

A generic Droid Tablet like a Pocket Book IQ 701 is by far the least expensive (by a two or three to one margin), and is a good value for the money.

If you decide to go with a generic Android Tablet, try to find one on display somewhere so you can determine if the LCD resolution and clarity is good enough to please you, then read some of the on-line reviews to see how well the device is working for actual users, and how reliable it is.

the nook color does a wonderful job with magazines, offers pinch to zoom, Article View and article scrolling.

It's a joy to use plust the screen is one of the bet on the market, vibrant and sharp.

comes right in your price range as well.
