Heard this on NPR this afternoon, driving home. Funny stuff, I'm in full agreement with him.

Go to page 2 and click "Turn Off" next to "Popular Highlights"

I concur that I find the "popular highlights" feature to be annoying, and turned it off immediately.

I'm also going to guess that Codrescu has already turned it off as well. He just wanted to put in his two cents about it.

Of course, the NY Times and a few other sources spent the week lamenting the loss of marginalia in the transition to ebooks. Sometimes, you can't win for losing....

Yeah I might get that sometime. Often he's pretty hilarious on NPR, other times not. That's satire though, at least for me, it's always hit or miss.

I had never heard of him until I read that book, why did I pay $9.99 for a book by an author I'd never heard of before?

It was the free sample of course.

Interestingly, The Poetry Lesson is one of those books that from my interpretation of its meaning, needs to be read by as many people as possible as quickly as possible, i.e. share with everyone.
