Errors in Table of Contents
When converting RTF to Mobi to read on Kindle I get errors in TOC - I set Calibre to "Force use of auto generated TOC" and Level one TOC is set at //#.
I have tried various combinations not using force generated TOC and changing Level one instructions but still get errors. The errors I get are Chapter numbers appearing more than once and text in Chapters also appearing in TOC and TOC in included in body of text. Below are the errors I am getting Table of Contents Chapter 1 Chapter 1 Sample Text - ONE Chapter 2 Sample Text - TWO Ch Chapter 1 Chapter 1 Chapter 1 Sample Text - ONE Chapter 2 Sample Text - TWO Chapter 3 Sample Text - Chapter 1 Sample Text - ONE Chapter 2 Sample Text - TWO Chapter 3 Sample Text - Chapter 1 Sample Text - ONE Chapter 1 Chapter 1 Sample Text - ONE Sample Text - ONE Chapter 2 Chapter 2 Chapter 2 Sample Text - TWO Sample Text - TWO Sample Text - TWO Chapter 3 Chapter 3 Chapter 3 Sample Text - THREE Sample Text - THREE Sample Text - THREE Chapter 4 Chapter 4 Chapter 4 Sample Text - FOUR Sample Text - FOUR Sample Text - FOUR Chapter 5 Chapter 5 Chapter 5 Sample Text - FIVE Sample Text - FIVE Sample Text - FIVE This is not the actual document but an example to illustrate the type of duplication I am getting. The Chapter headings and Sample Text is only entered once in the RTF document. Is there a simple way to eliminate this duplication of errors - hopefully not too technical - I would appreciate your help. |

I don't know if this is the same erros as I get every now and then when copying from that same exact file type to another, but anyways... It's usually because of the source file having multiple references to that one chapter. And with it having multiple references, with you using the force create ToC, it will list all that it finds as that Chapter. I say go back and look at the Code to that book and see what it shows for ChapterTitle and so forth.
P.S. Just ignore this if it is completely wrong >.< |
