New Proscan Tablet
I got a new Proscan tablet a couple of weeks ago. It runs 4.1 Android Jelly Bean and has 4GB flash memory with an option for an expansion card. I've got at 16 GB expansion card, but I can't seem to figure out how to use it. It looks like everything is still sitting there on the device's built in memory and I'm running low on space. I got a ton of books in the recent KOBO coupon deal that I'm wanting to move onto this tablet so I could really use some advice. Could someone tell me how to get programs like Aldiko to run from my SD card? The tablet's instructions weren't great so I really need help.

Apps are not going to run on your SD card. You can put your books on the card. But not your apps. Sorry to say but a tablet with 4GB is severely crippled. Any chance you can return it?
Older versions of Android were able to run apps from SD. But not any of the recent versions. |

Okay, if I put the books on my SD card, how could I access them with Aldiko? I really like the tablet, and I don't want to return it.

Yes, you can do that. Aldiko can find the books, I believe Aldiko has a file browser in it which you can navigate to the folders where you store your books.
As long as you can get the apps you need into the available memory, then it should be a fine tablet for reading. I got the 8GB Nook HD for the same reason, I knew I couldn't put a lot of apps on it, but I could put endless numbers of books on the card. |

For Android Jelly Bean, your internal SD card should be identified as SDCARD0, and your external SD card as EXTSDCARD. Use a file manager app such as ES File Manager or Astro to copy your books from internal SD card to external SD Card, then point the new location in Aldiko (I haven't used Aldiko for quite some time, so please correct me if I am wrong).

Okay, I think I see how to get this to work now. For some reason, I was having a nightmare of a time finding my books on the SD card, and I didn't know how in the world I was going to get my new Kobo bounty loaded. I think I just figured out how to do it. They really, really needed to have a better instruction manual with this, but I do really like it.
