pdf document shows up as blank on reader

Anyone had a pdf document show up as all blank pages on your reader, and if so, is there any fix for this?

The document I want to read is made up of a a series of scanned pages. These are the original scans, not converted (but I don't think that should be a problem, as I have other pdf documents like this which I can read fine on my Sony). I can see the document fine on my computer and also in calibre, but when I go to read it on my Sony, all I get are a hundred blank pages.

just made a discovery: if I change the font size on the reader, I can get the text to show up. however, it doesn't show up as the the text of the scanned images. Instead I am seeing a very primitive looking font, and the font size is not uniform. Words of bigger and smaller size are all mixed together.

The result is not very readable! Anyone have an idea why this would be happening on my Sony, when the document looks just fine on my computer?

Do yo have to have it in pdf? Perhaps converting it to epub (or another format if you prefer) would make the text easier to read.
