Firmware and linux

I noticed that the kobo in australia is now 159. At that price point I am thinking of getting one. Question about firmware updates. There is the ability to flash the firmware via sd card which is cool but the page to download the update from ( the forum from the a&r and borders website) doesn't distinguish between wifi and original nor version numbers. Was the sd card image something that was only offers for the 1.4 update on the original or is there somewhere where I can get the image for the wifi version?

Version numbers make difference. You cannot mistake.
For my usage, original kobo is decent device. Reading,
nothing more.

When we were beta testing kobo-1, we needed to do it from sd cards. For kobo-2, we can just paste a .tgz file into the .kobo directory. When the WiFi update is released, you will not have to have the update on an SD card, just the file.
