Good Kindle 3 Case for reading in bed?
Hello. I am looking for a good Kindle case to read in bed. I saw some options but was hoping someone had hands-on experience.
I am considering the Tuff-Luv case (http://www.amazon.com/Tuff-Luv-Multi...8619074&sr=8-1) ... It seems like it's pretty sturdy, but it's also a tad pricey. My concern is how much the case moves - at all - when you press the buttons? Does anyone have any hands-on experience with it? Or.. if there is another stand case that you think is good, let me know, too! Especially if you do read in bed already. |

I have had that particular Tuff-luv cover + the official Kindle cover without light. I'm waiting for my new M-Edge Trip Kindle Jacket.
The Tuff-luv cover is quite nice, but I didn't like the velcro solution. Magnets would have been a better solution in my opinion. The quality is other than that really good, but the *real* leather is only a fraction of a mm thick. The padding is good, front and back and gives good protection, no doubt. This is partly because the padding can hold some air inside which in turn gives a really good shock absorption. I brought it because I wanted to read in bed with the built-in stand, but in my experience it was actually more of a hassle because it's more bulky and because I use my legs as natural stands instead. If you really need a cover with a stand than I would buy this one insteed: http://www.amazon.co.uk/DURAGADGET-G...8621981&sr=8-1 It's only 11 quid and *real* leather, probably only a thin layer, though. The stand is most likely only valid as a thing to use in bed if you like to have your legs streched out falt. I personally find that really uncomfetable and unnatural; besides who uses a book stand for normal paperbacks books? So why should you need a stand for your Kindle? Just how I look at it, mate. I use the Kindle 3 case made by Speck.
http://www.speckproducts.com/kindle-...e-3-cases.html Has a stand and since it opens like a book so I can hold it like a book. Works well for me reading in bed. The case does add some weight so I usually remove the K3 from the case during really long reading sessions. |

reading in bed -- probably 90% of my reading experience.
here is my "review" of several cases: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...112944&page=16 the one i ended up keeping is my favorite because it is so easy to prop the K3 up on my chest/abdomen and i don't have to hold onto it. plus the cover looks classy. i have the M edge light which while not designed specifically for this cover, tucks in on the top or the side and works great. i have a rechargeable AAA battery in it that has lasted for hours and hours so far without a recharge. my wife has complained about light from my reading for years, and i have tried various lights without being really happy with any of them. they were either too bright from her standpoint, or too dim and non-uniform from my standpoint. this current solution is awesome. great reading for me, nice and dark from her viewpoint. |

I've used a Marware case (available at Amazon) and its great for reading anywhere. It offers full protection, all keys and ports have openings and it has a strap at the back for attachment to your fingers to protect it from accidental falls. It also can be set up with an included back rest for reading at a desk.

It feels luxurious in the winter, because I only have to take my hand out from under the warm covers just long enough to hit the next page button. And the light itself is excellent. I hesitated about the price, but am very glad I went for it. |
