Be for I ask my question I feel the need to give a bit of back ground as to why I am asking it. We live wayyy out in the contrey and the only internet we can get other that from the local phone companey is dial up. Now we do not have a landline phone any more and the DSL from the phone company is crap, because the phone company knows it is the only game in town so we have to pay lots for not much. ![]() OK my question is tis would it be possable to download books on to a flash drive at the library , I don't want to download at the library because the computers are all ways brakeing down, uploed it to my home computer then upload them on my Kobo ? Thank you.

Remember; if you are downloading books that have DRM you would need to ensure that

	a) Adobe Digital Edition was on the computer at the library b) You had activated that computer c) After downloading you would have to deauthorize the computer In theory it would work; in practice .... If you had a laptop though with WiFi it would be easy to take that laptop to a location with WiFi (many coffee shops, even libraries offer it). |

Yes, Peter is correct and if you live in a remote area you might be out of luck with a public wifi connection. For non-DRM books you can probably collect a flash drive full of these next time you are in town, but with DRM'd books I can't think of a legal method of getting them apart from the internet.

I don't know where you live but a few complaints about the computer access in your local library would be a good move. Of course, they might be on a very tight budget and can't afford repairs. Perhaps you can write a few letters to your local council (or whoever runs the library) or start a fund raising campaign to get better computer access. Just keep reading and good luck! |

Yes, what they said. Library computers usually don't have ADE, so you could only get non-DRM'd books off a library computer (like the ones on this site here). The Ebook library that my library subscribes to specifically says you can't download books to library computers.

I tried it out at my library, just out of curiosity; I was able to save the link to the DRM'd book to my flash drive which I had plugged into the library computer, but then when I plugged it in at home, it had to go to the internet to actually collect the book, so the whole thing is pointless. So as far as I can see your only options are a) only read non-DRM'd books or b) get a Wifi laptop to get connected elsewhere. |
