Reader full (but shouldn't be!)

Hey everyone,

I'm having a spot of trouble with my PRS-505. I've been loading books onto it from my computer (I'm on a Mac, so the reader is treated like an external drive; I drag the books to it...) but, after about 30 books, it says that there's no more space on the reader!

The books I'm downloading aren't thousands of pages long - they're mostly classics downloaded from project Gutenberg, as epub files. My computer's showing loads of free space left on the reader, but when I try to add books it tells me it's full.

Anyone ever encountered this/know how to fix it? I know when memory cards do that they need to be reformatted, but as for the reader itself....?

Thanks!

I'm not Mac fluent, but you can try running the Mac equivalent of fsck or dosfsck (linux) or chkdsk (Win) on your 505 internal memory. Sounds like you've got some unallocated chains.

If you have copies of all of your books and don't mind deleting them on the ereader, it is possible to reformat your ereader. On your 505 go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Format internal memory. Just a warning that a reformat wipes clean the memory so you'll have to go through the trouble to retransfer all of your books over from your hard-drive to your ereader and recreate your collections.
