XDA Deves release Honycomb 3.0 nookcolor port to the public!

Folks over at XDA have done it again, in a short order they have ported Honeycomb 3.0 to the nook color.

You can download the image here an view the complete post here

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936995

For install instructions visit the NookDevs the steps are identical for the Nookie Froyo, except use the image found in the thread vs nookie 0.5.9

What works:
-Graphics acceleration
-Accelerometer
-Wireless!
-Touchscreen
-Buttons
-Sleep/Wakeup stuff

Doesn't work:
-Sound (sadly! Despite my efforts the last hours I didn't get it working properly yet)
-DSP e.g. no hardware video decoding

I've got Honeycomb running now. The UI is very nice, and obviously a better fit for tablets. I can't wait until I can load it from memory instead of SD. It doesn't seem too slow either, for a development version. I imagine it will be improved when Honeycomb is actually released to the public.

There is a vid on the XDA forum where the user shows that the HoneyComb image is running on the overclocked kernel. That might explain why the nook is responsive.
