New to e-books
I have just found Mobileread and am looking forward to getting involved. I got a Kindle for Christmas and love it. It will hopefully save my house from collapsing under the weight of paper books, although I read so much (and have cards to two libraries) that it will probably just add to my reading time.

So far I am reserving my Kindle mostly for reading all those classics I've never gotten to, plus some old favorites I like to reread, like Gabaldin's Outlander.

Nice to be among reading friends!

You may have already discovered the great Kindle forum, so have you checked out all the sticky threads at the top of that forum? They are full of additional information like the "Links Every Kindle Owner Should Have" and the "Links To Amazon Website: User Guides, Updates, Customer Service - And More!".

MobileRead also has a great free library of mostly PD books that have been beautifully formatted and proofed by some very dedicated MR members. Check out "E-Book Uploads - Patricia Clark Memorial Library" and look in the Mobi/PRC section for books for your kindle.

You can explore the MobileRead wiki and read about DRM (Digital Rights Management), ADE (Adobe Digital Editions), and E-book formats.
