What's a cheap place to register a URL?

It's an international domain, if that matters.

I use baremetal.com. Can't remember if they were cheap, I think so; my .ca was about $80 for 5 years. Later I transferred a .ca and a .com domain to them, and they gave excellent service -very patient handling an annoyingly messy transfer.

I'm happy with them.

I switched my domains to 1and1.com because they offer free private registration (meaning when someone runs whois on your domain, they don't see your name and address allowing you to avoid spam and maintain privacy). I don't know how most places do it, but godaddy charged me as much for private registration as they did for the domain name.

Might be an issue depending on what TLD you're after. They don't seem to sell country code TLDs besides .us on their main site, but have a limited number of international sites that I assume would sell some.
