Stop job error

Today I wanted to convert and send a new book from my calibre library via email to my Kindle. I accidentally had the wrong file highlighted when I hit the connect/share button.

When I realized my error, I went to the job screen and clicked on stop job. Then I highlighted the file I intended to send and did the connect thing again. The problem was that stop job did not function and calibre continued trying to email a file that I tried to stop. The file was too large to email and eventually the email attempt failed, but calibre would not email the correct file until it timed out on the job I tried to stop... multiple times. It would convert it but only showed waiting until the first job failed.

Can you not stop a job in process or did I somehow not hit the right buttons?

stopping an in progress email is not always possible, it depends on what stage of the process the send is in.

Thanks kovid.

If the stop job button won't do it, would closing calibre and restarting it accomplish the stop job?

Not necessarily. It again depends on what stage of the process the job is at, the shutdown process for calibre includes a two second wait time, which means that the email might get sent in that time.

Any chance of a modification to the connect/send button that will show what file is about to be processed? I see that the file line turns dark blue when you select it, but if you click away from it before you go to process it, the file selected is not nearly so obvious.
