Waterproof case for Prs 350
HI I have a PRS-350. I would like to have a case that I could use while I am in the water to protect the reader from dropping it by accident. I tried a ziplock but it interferes with the touch screen. Any suggestions? Thanks

Probably stuck with the ziplock-type cases. (I found one that juuuust fits the 350--forget the name.) Just turn it on first (and kill the power saving), and use the page turn buttons. Having plastic or a case over the screen kills the touch detection.

If you need something that feels more safe than a ziploc baggie, then have a look at the m-edge guardian case. It is made for the kindle 2, but I use mine with my Sony 505, with some strips of foam core to keep the reader from rattling around in the case. So I figure it ought to work for the 350 as well?
The case is on sale: http://www.medgestore.com/products/kindle2-guardian.psp Of course you need to check if you can access the buttons for page turn, I'm not familiar with the layout of the 350 Last edited by June; 01-29-2011 at 02:12 AM. |

The Sony x50 touchscreens work using infra-red, so any kind of cover or layer over the screen is going to make it pretty much useless. However you should still be able to use the buttons.

I already know the touch screen doesn't work. It's the buttons I would like to use. But when I use the ziplock bag it turns the pages. So I guess I can't use when I am in the water. Thanks for the advice.

I use a waterproof bag w/ziplock closure (made for phones etc., sturdier than a regular sandwich bag). Works fine, doesn't turn pages, easy operation with buttons. Was reading in a pool and at a swim-up bar, no problem.
