Anyone read these 2 Kindlebooks for Writers?
Has anyone here bought these two writing books for Kindle? I was just wondering how they looked as far as formatting and such. I've got the pbook versions but am thinking of buying the ebooks so as to have them more handy when on the go. Oddly enough last time I looked for them on Kindle they weren't available yet so I clicked on the "I'd like to read this on Kindle" button. I imagine others might have too, but it's good to see that Amazon and the publishers do actually listen to what people want to read at times.

My writing group owns Story Structure Architect and while I haven't borrowed it yet, I've dipped into it, and other have used it. It's very dense, and has a lot of good stuff in it.
However, it has nothing to do with Kindle. It's the structure of the story they are talking about, rising action and falling action and building to a climax etc. It's about the writing, pure and simple. |

I wasn't trying to say it had anything 'directly' to do with Kindle. I just wondered how easy getting round in the kindle version of the book is. While they do have free samples for download, that's just what it is, a sample. And I was wondering how easy of access and useful others found the complete ebook.

I don't know about those, but I've read a bazillion how to write books and am currently reading "The Making of a Short Story" by Alice LaPlante from Norton. It's probably the best one I've read. Full of examples, specifics, exercises..

For my money, Donald Maass' Writing the Breakout Novel is the best writing book on the market. It's not available on kindle, though.
Hm... flipping through Amazon, I see that Monica Wood's Description and Orson Scott Card's Character and Viewpoint are also unavailable in ebook format. Do I detect a market niche? |
