Need a better name.

I need a better name for my Sony Reader Daily Edition PRS-950. I'm almost ready to start calling it a Kindle because at least everyone would know what I'm talking about. "Hey honey, have you seen my reader?" "Don't forget to pack the SR-DE (sir-dee?) in the car!"

I'm not suggesting that Sony change their name. Proud history and tradition and all that. But I need something else to call it around the house. Any ideas?

I've just been calling mine my book. Which works because my boyfriend knows what I'm talking about, but I suppose anyone else would be a bit confused. What about calling it your ereader, rather than just reader? (I tried calling mine my "reader," but it sounded too much like a little kid's learn to read tool when I said it. )

I found a Japanese-English dictionary (here) which translates reader as "dokusha"

A couple of "proper names" have occurred to me:
"Booker" (like the literary prize)
"Dewey" (like the Decimal System)

as in "What are you doing?" "I'm reading Sherlock Holmes on Dewey."

Liseuse.

I don't know what to call it. I have a PRS-505, and Sony obviously spent absolutely ZERO time considering marketing and branding, because "I love my PRS-505" does not exactly roll off the tongue. (It's officially a Sony Reader. Yeah, there's another fine useless term.)

People ask me if it's a Kindle, and I say, "no, it's the competition." And then they ask what kind it is, and I say "Sony, only this one's obsolete; they don't make this version anymore."

I mostly default to calling it my "ebook reader," which is clunky. I may start using "ereader," even though I have fond memories of the ereader file format; it doesn't look like B&N is protecting their trademark for the name, so "ereader" may become the public term for the devices.

I think of mine as "my 650", or if you have no other of their products "the Sony", perhaps?

My wife calls it "the gadget", as in, "you're not reading that gadget again?"
