Headings disappear in Sigil
Hi,
I'm having an issue that's driving me crazy. I have about 50 sections in my eBook that I want included in the TOC. I go through each in Sigil and mark the headings "Heading 1" in each section. I've checked and double-checked them, making sure the whole line is marked as "Heading 1" -- BUT when I open the document in Calibre only some of the headings appear - not all. Then when I go back to Sigil and check, it seems like some of the headings have lost the "Heading 1" marker so they're not showing up in the TOC. Anyone have the same problem, and know how to resolve it? Thank you! Alda |

Do they show in the Sigil TOC editor (F7)?

i have sometimes "lost" header tags by deleting what seems to be superfluous white space in book view, in front of the chapter header text. this can cause h2 tags to revert to normal tags.
check also for nesting. if you mix h1 & h2, then view toc in calibre viewer, to shows the h1 only but with clickable indents which expand to show h2 when clicked |

Thanks for the replies.
@theducks - only the ones that later show up in Calibre. But I hadn't checked that before - I'll have one more go and check the TOC editor before I close. @ cybmole - I have no idea what you said in the second part of your reply, but re the first - there is no white space before the line. |
