My Sony PRS 600, Terminally Ill??

Hi Guys and Girls,

I have a Sony PRS 600 which is 13 months old and lightly used.

I was charging it up the other day, via the USB cable connected to my desktop PC as normal.

After charging had completed I turned the reader on, it went through the usual loading routine and stopped, a blank screen then appeared and I received the following message at the bottom of the screen:-

1fskin:/l/string...

I have tried resetting but, to no avail. Is anyone aware of what the above error message refers to and is this terminal?.

I havent seen or heard of that error before but reading these forums it seems that a lot of problems are encountered after charging via your PC.
Unless the PC is being used the whole time if it goes into sleep mode it can actually drain your reader. If you have a wall charger, I used my daughters PS3 charger, try that. It might be that simple. Otherwise Im sure someone more knowledgable than me will come on and give you advice. Good Luck
