Greetings
Hello people ... just joined, and herewith my first post!

My darling wife surprised me with a Sony PRS-350 for Xmas; since then I have completely fallen in love with the whole e-reader "Thing." I have hardly put it down since its first charge.

The idea of being able to carry around several thousand books wherever I may roam is utterly delicious. I spent twenty-two years in the Royal Navy (Although I have now been out for eleven years, which should give you some idea of my age ahem ...) and I wish these things had been available then! I have many memories of always having to restrict the number of books I took with me on a deployment - then once I had read what I brought, which unfortunately never took that long, having to rely on a decidedly ropey ship's library or swap books.

It's an iPod for books, really, isn't it! Which is another thread entirely ... since I am even more obsessed with music than I am with reading. Not Of This Forum, though

I do have a question, though I will be A Good Boy and post it in the correct forum ... give me a few minutes and then head over to the Calibre bit.

Looking forward to getting to know more about the wonderful world of digital reading!

Good to have your new company from Daaaarset, Boogie. You'll find a Sony and Calibre a marriage made in heaven. Sony hardware's great but I've not touched Sony library software for a couple of years or more because, quite honestly, it doesn't hack the job. Very best wishes. Neil
