Regifting a PRS505

I want to give an acquaintance my PRS505 with about 100 books loaded. Is there a way to do this without this individual getting my account information? Thanks

They would not be able to extract your account information from the 505.

If the books loaded on the 505 have DRM, meaning were purchased from Sony, tell your acquaintance not to register the Reader to their account until they read all of the books they want to read that currently reside on the Reader. If the books have DRM then registering the Reader to a new account will cause the books to be unreadable.

Disassociate Reader Before Gifting

Thanks for the quick response - do I need to disassociate my reader with my account before gifting it? I think if I do that the new owner will be unable to read my books (purchased from the sony store), right?

You are correct. If you want your friend to read the books currently on the Reader, the 505 will need to remain associated with your Sony account. They should read any/all books that are currently on the Reader before registering it to their own account and buying any new books.
