Concerns dealing with updating the new nookLibrary 1.4

I am trying again; has anyone been able to, in some other way, update from the old nookLibrary 1.3 to the new nookLibrary 1.4 when you were using the 2.5.2 root? There seem to be some certificate incompatibilities and I am very hesitant to just delete the old app and then find I cannot get either one to work. I tried this with Notes and lost it completely.

Much thanks. I tried over at nookdev with no luck.

I connected through ADB via USB.
I tried:
adb shell
uninstall com.nookdevs.library
but it didnt work.
Then I wrote:
adb shell
cd system
cd apps
rm nookLibrary.apk (or whatever the name was)

With the command "ls" you get a list of all files and folders.

When the nook 1.3 were removed I could easily install 1.4.

I hope this helps.

On a completely diffrent note, I already misses the shelves, from the original rom. (makes my favorite books stay on top.

I did what sblop did, but I still couldn't install it over ADB, so I just copied the file to the root of the nook, and launched it from the file manager to install it.

Just make sure you have your myLibrary out of your home screen.

It works fine for me, I wanted it for the cover screen saver, thinking that it displays teh books cover of what you are currently reading, but it doesn't, it displays the covers for the last 5 books loaded, what you are reading is in the center.....other than that, it's really the same, but I don't have a ton of books on the nook.

I do not think I will be using this release at all. On my nook (10039) it seems to be much more buggy than 1.3. 1.4 caused my nook to freeze and "Show Covers" was more laggy/took more time to scroll through books. So I installed 1.3 on it again and it works perfectly. I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that I am on a manually rooted 1.5...

Shades, thanks for the input. I think I will pass as well, especially since I have just over 1500 books. No need for the bugs, especially as 1.3 is working for me as well.

You should report the bugs here.
