Hello from MN
I stumbled across this site by accident really but am I sure glad I did! I currently own a Sony PRS-505 which has been a good solid eReader. I still like to read a print book on occasion, but I love being able to take my whole library with me wherever I go! I'm looking to upgrade though and am debating whether I want to go to the next Sony or switch to a Kindle. Clarity on the screen is one thing I'm looking for and also I have well over 300 books on my Sony, can I transfer them to a Kindle? I had thought to sell the Sony, but maybe I should just keep it until I've finished reading those books.

Ok, off to scour the posts for ups and downs of both readers!

Books can be transferred between devices if they are DRM-free, you can also convert them using utilities like Calibre....
Depends where you bought your books from, some stores allow you to re-upload with another device registered ....

Drop into the various Forums on the main forum page for other thoughts etc....

Good to have your company, Lori. Being an old stick-in-the-mud, I don't belive you actually can upgrade from a 505. It's a lovely device. If you do decide to switch, though, they're out of production now and there seems to be a lively second-hand market for the wee treasures. Good luck and best wishes. Neil

Welcome to MR, Lori! I also have (and LOVE) a 505. I haven't been tempted by another reader ... until recently. Now I really want a 650. But, in the meantime, my 505 is trusty and wonderful, so I'll stick to it
