sigil 0.3.3 and KDE 4.5.5

I've been using Sigil happily and successfully for several months now. The other day I upgraded to 0.3.3 and around the same time I upgraded my KDE (on Kubuntu 10.10) to 4.5.5. Sigil started throwing errors, on several different ePubs, that it could not open the file. There were a few it still opened. Here is the error message:

Error info: Cannot load file /file-name.epub:
/home/valloric/sigil_code/src/Sigil/Importers/ImportOEBPS.cpp(114): Throw in function void ImportOEBPS::ExtractContainer()
Dynamic exception type: boost::exception_detail::clone_impl<CZipExceptionW rapper>
std::exception::what: std::exception
[zip_info*] = Not a directory.

Sigil version: 0.3.3
Runtime Qt: 4.7.0
Compiled Qt: 4.7.0
Platform: Linux

I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of 0.3.3 with the same results. I kept my version 0.3.2 so I did an uninstall and reinstalled 0.3.2 and everything works fine again.

All the files are readable in Calibre ebook-viewer.

Hope this helps find the bug.

I'm aware of this bug, and it's a bug in the new version of ZipArchive. It was there in the old version, but I hacked ZA into submission. I reported the bug and looking at that part of the code, they did something to try to address the bug, but they just made it worse in other situations.

I'll be pushing out 0.3.4 quickly because of this issue. Probably tomorrow (no promises!).

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll check back tomorrow and keep checking. 0.3.2 is working just fine, so no harm done.

Could you attach one of those epub files which give you a "Not a directory" error to issue 735? The file that I have is hard to debug with.

No need. The issue has been fixed and a new release (0.3.4) is online already.
