Help! I can't quit buying book!

I'm pretty sure I need Book Buyers Anonymous or something. I have a backlog of TBR books of 300 to 400. Not only am I still grabbing freebie promos, but I am still buying!! I can't stop!

I'm not using real money but I could still be using my Amazon cards on other things we need. Every time I get one, I head straight for the Kindle section.

I'm so weak....powerless to stop myself. I have zero willpower. I need drugs or counseling or both.

Anyone know of any support groups for this type of thing?

wvcb, it's stilll money. Maybe you should discuss this with your husband. For example, agree to not buy a book until the day comes that you are going to start reading it that day.

But why?
Isn't it one of the major benefits of ebooks that you don't have to buy them? Ebook isn't like a hardback edition that might be out of stock in 3 months time.
Relax.

No need to worry too much. It's a harmless addiction suffered by many here at MR. Now if your addiction was "food" you would be in more serious trouble, and I might have to refer you to Over Eaters Anonymous.
Very difficult to resist those freebies. Enjoy.

Mag.

Yes, I see what you mean. It's that cheery ' Hi, desertblues. We've recommandations for you' . Hard to resist, as is the one- click payment. I managed to get a grip on my spending and keep a budget of 50 euros/month. After that it's just freebies from Amazon or Mr.

I have a husband?

Oh that must be the guy in a baseball cap and camo I see sometimes when I look up from my Kindle.

But, seriously, I always read books that I buy (even with play money) that day. All the TBR are freebies. And hubby doesn't care, he's a very easy going guy.

Here we are being People of Walmart.

wvcherrybomb - believe me, this too shall pass.

When I first started on my gadgets, I was reading about five books at the same time. I am sure that I have mixed up plots in lots of books.

Cheers
