New to the ereader world :)
Hello everyone, I am new to the ereader world..yes I am behind times..lol. I just purchased my first ereader a Kobo Vox. I was having trouble adding my files from the computer to the vox, so I went on you tube and found good ereader. They mentioned Calibre just starting using it I like it thus far. So my question is will any program updates be automatically downloaded, or do I have to search a link?

Calibre won't automatically download updates, but it will alert you when there is one. Calibre checks for updates every time it starts, and gives you a messages asking if you want to download or wait. If you say yes, it takes you to a download page that you then download the update from. After download, shut down Calibre, run the update exe, and the new version is installed.

That's how it works in Windows anyway.

Calibre will tell you when there's a new version of calibre available, but I'm pretty sure you will need to manually download the new version.

Correct. A new version is generally released every Friday.

As others have mentioned, calibre will alert you when a new version is available. Usually every Friday. But that probably depends on your timezone. For you, it could be Thursday or Saturday

Calibre also checks whenever you launch it.

Just to clarify: Calibre only does full Upgrades, not incremental 'updates' of portions.
User Plugins can usually be be updated without doing a full Upgrade (when requirements are met. See Preferences:Get Plugins for requirements)
