Sony PRS-505 & Book Armor case

Hello!

Having bought a K3, and ordered an Oberon Designs case for it, it's time to say goodbye to my trusty Sony 505.

This is a phenomenally good Reader, and I'll miss it. It's in excellent condition, and comes with the original box and software CD (the box is a little bit worn at the edges, but otherwise fine). It also has the original brown leather cover, and I'm including a Book Armor case (amazingly sturdy - protects the Reader brilliantly and is in excellent condition), and a charging cable.

The charging cable, by the way, is a Logic 3 PSP cable, so it has the necessary USB attachments to connect the Reader to the PC, and also the connector to power the Reader directly (when you connect the cable to a USB friendly plug/adaptor).

Anyway, the photos I've attached show all the items and their relative condition.

I'm looking for £100 all in, including delivery, but at this time I'll only consider shipping to the UK. I am open to offers, but please let's not waste our time with ones that are preposterously low!

I will accept PayPal, a cheque (you'll have to wait for the cheque to clear before I dispatch anything), or you can even come direct to my home for local pickup should you live nearby.

Look forward to hearing from you, I hope!

EDIT (16/01/10): Sadly, due to not having received a great deal of interest in this, I'm going to have to withdraw it from sale and see if I can find a buyer elsewhere. Thanks anyway!

If you're willing to meet the cost of delivery, then I would certainly consider it, BeTePoK! You seem to be buying up a few Readers from here, too...are you starting a big collection?

Anyway, do you have a particular courier in mind that you would like to use? UPS, FedEx, something like that?

Actually, I've looked into it, and DHL have a service point near me that I could send the parcel from. They would aim to deliver in 1-5 working days, and it would cost either £41.95 or £51.95 (depending on the size of the parcel - I can't say which size would be necessary until I go to the service point).

If we agreed on a price of £145 including delivery by DHL, would that be fair with you? Let me know!

BeTePoK, you should go for it! The price of £145 is very affordable and Croker is a very trustworthy member. Highly recommended deal!

Hello

I'm trying to find a buyer here in Belarus for you, and I wouldn't go for DHL, UPS, or FedEx. You can send the reader vua Royal Mail, and it wiill be much cheaper and I don't have to pay customs fee However, I must admit that the price is a bit higher than I expected. Could you please tell me how much that will be in USD?

PS Thanks, Rob!

I can send it by Royal Mail, which probably will be cheaper, but I'll have to be sure the mail is trackable, as that protects everyone. Give me a few minutes to go to the Royal Mail website, and I'll come back to you with a final figure in dollars.

Right, it's not actually that much cheaper with Royal Mail. The cheapest parcel rate I can find to Belarus would be £22, and that has no tracking. The cheapest suitable rate I can find would be £30, but that should be trackable (it says "trackable to most destinations"). So, it looks like the best price I could offer to Belarus would be $200 USD, including delivery.

I can't guarantee it would dodge customs fees, either!

$200 for the few remaining PRS-505 with their magnificent hardware is a great deal. Highly recommended purchase from Croker. Go for it! And all things considered you won't have to change your Device selection! WIN-WIN-WIN!!! What luck!

Considering the fact that I bought last 505 for $90, $200 seems a bit too high for me

Fair enough - to be totally honest, sending it overseas wasn't my first choice anyway, because I knew the costs would spiral. In this instance, $65 USD is taken up by the shipping. That would mean the Reader, Book Armor case and cable would cost $135 - not exactly a million miles away from the $90 you say you paid for the last one.

Still, thanks anyway. Anyone from the UK who's still interested at £100 including delivery, or has a sensible offer to put to me, let me know!

By the way, Jerome - exactly why were you so enthusiastic about this deal? I don't know who you are, so I found it a bit strange for you to come in and post twice here about what a good deal you thought it was!

I don't mean any offence, by the way, but it struck me as a little odd!

I have seen other eReaders and tablets, and nothing is comparable to the quality of a PRS-505. Other readers (even new ones) have a worse screen contrast, are flimsy, do not allow expandability with Memory Card or not even give you a Free quality cover to protect it. These last PRS-505s should be treasured as they were a very good quality product. Their expansion is being improved with tweaks of programmers like Kartu doing the PRS+ program. Also the PRS-505 is even thinner than the new Kindle 3. Whoever manages to get hold of a PRS-505 has truly a great eReader.

So Croker, on your eReader, is it still for Sale? because some others visiting this page might want to know in order to buy. Hope you get another good buyer unless BeTePoK has a change of heart and wants to buy this. Tracking capability is a must though for sending overseas. You never know if postmen "lost" it. ; ) Good luck friend.

Okay, Jerome, that makes sense now - it just seemd a bit unusual, is all. Hope you haven't taken any offence

To confirm, though, yes - the PRS-505 is still for sale, and I'll entertain serious offers for it.

Thanks for your good wishes!

Come on, folks, surely someone can recognise a bargain when they see one?

Don't forget, I am open to offers!
