REALLY bad formatting

Earlier today I bought a book and transferred it to my Kindle for PC app. Well, the formatting was atrocious! I mean bad, with mid-sentence line breaks galore, strange markings such as "1/4", etc.

It's a more-or-less self-published book, not from a major house.

Has this happened to you, and if so, what did you do???

Contact Amazon and ask for a refund. I've never had to do that, but that's what I would do if I found a badly formatted eBook.

And don't forget to leave feedback about the formatting at the bottom of the book's page on Amazon.

Yes i think you have a right to expect the formatting to be good, i would let them know as well ..

Request a refund & write a review - making sure to include the poor formatting.

If it's a self-published book I'd also contact the author and express my displeasure at their poor formatting.

I haven't any problem with my Kindle. And I think they are right return it to where you bought it. Just make it sure it is covered by their time of warranty.

it's an error with the book, not the device

I just got off the phone with Kindle support -- full refund provided. I did leave a review as well warning of the problem.

I second what Harry said about contacting the author/publisher, if possible. Most do care and would want to know that there is a problem so they can correct it.
