I messed up! Bought an ebook from Mobipocket and now I can't use it :(

Well long story short I bought a french-english dictionary from Mobipocket.com which cost 30 bucks and now I find out i can't use it on my Kindle.

Using the mobipocket reader software I tried to make Kindle a "reading device" but it won't let me.

Then I tried to de drm it using this method:
http://stackoverflow.org/wiki/Removi...m_Kindle_books

This successfully converted and gave me a new file but the new file won't open either.

I'm at the end up my wits guys! Please help, I don't want to have wasted 30 bucks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but mobipocket is not the same as mobi for a Kindle.

Have you tried converting it with calibre, if you've successfully stripped DRM?

Edit: Conversion should not be needed if you stripped DRM successfully.

Mobipocket format is used in .mobi and most .azw/prc files (.azw can be Topaz sometimes) for the Kindle. The issue must be DRM. We can't help with deDRM'ing it on this forum.

Try approaching their CS and asking for a refund.

If the OP had successfully removed the DRM, it would be readable on the Kindle.

What did you use for the PID when you bought the book? Did you use the same PID during the de-DRM process?

It never asked me for a PID so it gave the PC a PID which I used in the removal process.

Use that PC PID you generated with the tools that you can find by googling "apprentice alf's blog".

EDIT: assuming that you can successfully open/read the book in the Mobipocket Reader app.
