What I love about my Sony Reader
I have always read while listening to music softly with my MP3 player, while walking on the treadmill.
Before my reader, I had to take paper clips to hold the books open, make sure I chose the "right" treadmill at the gym (there are two kinds there, but paper books only sit nicely on the newer ones, the ones EVERYONE wants). Changing pages was a PAIN with all those paper clips. I normally had to use 3-4 to keep the pages from moving or being in the way. Plus, add on that I had to have TWO items while on the treadmill. My book AND my MP3 player. I love that I don't have to worry about the pages staying open, that I can choose any machine now, and I don't need my MP3 player anymore since my reader has a music player on it. Changing pages is so much easier...although it would be nice to have some kind of remote changer so I don't have to reach my sweaty hands over and touch my reader...I mean, it's fine, but it would be even better with that added. Love it, truly, love it. |

Hi, kelliedn. Glad your lovin' your Sony! I don't think I'm brave enough to try reading on the treadmill. I have dropped my iPod too many times so I have it in a heavy-duty case. I favor audiobooks or watching videos while I'm on the treadmill. Anything that keeps one motivated to exercise is a good thing!

I've never taken any electronics nekkid outside my carpeted apartment after watching an mp3 player (luckily old and failing) fall to the sidewalk and shatter before my eyes! E-reading while eating doesn't work for me, not so much getting the unit dirty, more the page turning. |

I take my reader everywhere with me. I have no problems at all using it on the treadmills because they have a little area in front that holds things quite nicely.

That's great! I suppose with the touchscreen it's not too difficult to swipe the pages? That's where I have problems. Moving on the treadmill and pressing buttons on my iPod at the same time is how I manage to knock it off the ledge. It's great that you can take your library everywhere, isn't it? Later this afternoon I plan to drop by Borders cafe for a latte and a relaxing read. I like how the MP3 player has been improved on the new Sony models too. It is more functional to me, and it's great to not need my iPod all the time for music.
