i got a Kindle for Christmas and continue to look for ways to be able to download books from Overdrive. I have used Overdrive for years to download audio books. Any help on how to handle DRM issues on ePub and Mobi formats would be appreciated.

I thought that epub was the open standard and did not have DRM issues? Obviously there is something here I need to learn.

Good to have your company, Al. It's not difficult to remove DRM (which is why the claim that it's in place to deter piracy is utterly ridiculous). You'll find instructions on the net, but we can't discuss it here because -- no matter how morally justified we might believe it is to break the unjust padlocks -- it's illegal. Hello and welcome to MobileRead.

In order to convert the files to be read on your Kindle, you will need to strip the DRM. Read this thread ... it will give you a good idea of what you need to do. Don't be intimidated, it's much easier than some make it sound.
