Hi everyone! Just received a Nookcolor for Christmas and I'm loving it so far. My 1st mission is to figure out what the rave is about "rooting". This is my first Android device so I'm not even sure what I'm missing by not leaving is bone stock. I'll be returning it to the store but only for an exchange. The screen has a bubble underneath the glass that shouldn't be there so I just want a bubble free one!

I'm new to this forum as well. I have had my Nook Color less than a week, but I've already attempted to root it. I didn't root it properly, it seems, but it's functional for what I need it to do at this point. In other words: I didn't "brick" it. Read up on rooting and let Scion walk you through it if you get stuck.
