Patent of the touchscreen technology used in the PRS-x50s
For those who are curious about how the touchscreen on the 350, 650 and 950 works, I just found the patent granted to Neonode:
Optical Touch Screen Systems Using Wide Light Beams Infrared touchscreens are nothing new, but Neonode's implementation is interesting. What's more, the patent is chock-full of easy to understand, self-explanatory illustrations, which is rare enough: most patent applications are convoluted and designed to bullshit their way through the review process, but this one obviously isn't. |
