Kindle Voyage - Update - Now not working!!! HELP!!

Hey guys, having REAL trouble with my Kindle Voyage.

A little while ago I was reading a book and a message popped up saying "updating Kindle" So I left it and it reboot.

Now I cannot get into my kindle at all.. I turn it on and it loads, goes to the screen saver after it turns on and if I push any button, it comes up with just a white screen.. If I leave it for a couple of minutes the kindle reboots and the process starts again..

If I hold the power button the menu comes up to "Cancel, Restart, Screen OFF"

My kindle was working perfectly fine before this forced update!!

I rang Amazon and they rufuse to do anything even though it was their update that killed my kindle because it is "out of warranty"

Can anyone help me? Or anyone know of a way I can format it or something without getting into any of the menus?
I can see the books if I plug it into my computer and I can see the USB Drive Mode screen on the kindle when it is plugged in, but thats all I can do.
I deleted all the books off incase one was corrupt or something but im now out of ideas..

Can anyone please help me..?

Tell us what tools we have to work with please:
Is the device jailbroken?
Did you install rescue pack?
Did you install the rp add-on, coward's rescue pack?
Do you have USBnetworking installed?

Tell us what other things you have installed on the device please.

And if all of the above answers are: "No" . . . .

You still have access to USB storage - - -
Search for a thread by ixtab (see the FGA thread, prefixed 'tutorial' on how to do that) that contains:
reset by file

You need the correct name, which is something like:
DO_FACTORY_RESET
placed at the topmost level of USB Storage. IIRC.

DO_FACTORY_RESTORE as a blank file with no extensions worked a treat!!

You mean I actually remembered the name?

Hi,

I am facing similar problem with my kindle voyage. and USB also not getting recognized after connecting to PC. but I can charge my kindle because led glows amber and after completion it shows green color.

But I can not start my kindle. Screen is frozen, USB not getting recognized.

Can anyone help me with that?

Start your own thread for your problem.

Give more details than "similar to above".
Details, details, details - it is a technical forum and you want an answer to a technical question.

At least:
Current firmware version.
First six characters of the device serial number.
Is the device jail broken?
What things have you added to it?

Anything other that normal that you can think of.

I believe this MAY be the problem I faced and which I asked in a different thread.

I made my post in the Kindle forum, rather than the Developer's sub-forum (as you have), since my Kindle had never been jailbroken.

The solution I received solved the problem.

I don't have the thread handy, but perhaps another member here can supply that information.
