hello and need help
I recently purchased the kindle, and was going through a few websites that have FREE ebooks. I was able to download in a epub format to my computer, and then emailed as an attachment to my kindle email. BTW kindle allows you to have a email account yourname@kindle.com
Now I need to know what I need to do to be able to download the book to kindle. Please reply... Not so computer savvy newbie ereader ![]() |

Hi indomom and welcome to MobileRead. Don't know the answer to your question. If someone doesn't come along soon with an answer, try posting your question in the Kindle forum

You simply need to go to the Home screen, open the Menu, and select "Sync & Check for Items" answering "yes" if asked to turn on wireless. If you are using a WiFi only K3 you will, of course, have a nearby WiFi access point to connect to. I suggest that you take a look at Calibre (http://calibre-ebook.com/). Its a library manager and format converter that can do the ePub (along with a whole pantheon of other formats) to MOBI conversion allowing you to move the file to your Kindle over USB or it can email it to your Kindle. There's a forum dedicated to it here on MR. Free ebooks often need some massaging and Calibre can make easy work of most of it. Last edited by dwig; 12-26-2010 at 08:40 PM. |

Welcome! I think you need to convert the books to .mobi so they can be read by the kindle. Calibre should help you out with that!
Definitely check in on the kindle forum! |
