Continuous text with no paragraph breaks

Sorry if this question has been asked before - couldn't find a search term which gave me an answer.
When I converted a txt file to epub using Calibre, I got an epub file with no breaks between paragraphs.
Is there a way to make it work please? I know how to get at the stylesheet; what do I have to add to it?
Running Calibre on Windows 7
Reading using Stanza on a 32gb iPhone, jailbroken using limera1n, version 4.1.
